Set of (2) Antique Hot Iron Trivets
This is a Set of (2) Antique Hot Iron Trivets. One has the name of the forge and location in St.Louis, MO stamped in the design from the Pleuser & Henger MFG Co. who were a recycling company for scrap metal.... These trivets were used when women used old fashioned steam or hot irons and needed a way to rest their hot irons without burning down the house.
The other trivet is unmarked and in excellent condition without weathering.
They are in a specific shape for the irons. Trivets can be attractive as wall decorations and can be used also to hold hot food dishes that will rest upon them rather than damage a table or countertop or used for the original purpose to hold antique irons on the ironing boards and in storage.
Each is approx 5x6x1" and weighs .75 lb.
They have some wear on them as most antiques do, but are a great add in for anyone who wants some rustic trivets in their collection.
