This photo is of the circa 1863 civil war era photo and is in a beautiful wooden frame, with a secure wooden backing. This is rare, and priceless....Civil war era memorabilia enthusiasts and historians would love this one.
Rare and in excellent shape. We only have one. The lower left edge of the frame has some of the gold paint rubbed off, but could easily be restored. Please see the detail image.
This is a rare photo of the men at rest, not in uniform. Confederate soldiers often went to battle in their backwoods clothes and liked taking it easy when possible. This could also be a photo of backwoods boys on a hunting trip. The tent is similar to tents of 1863 photos. Or perhaps it is a photo of a field 'grub' tent.
